Plarn Workshop on Friday, October 7 from 3-5 pm. This is a GCS Early Release day.
Plarn or Plastic Yarn can be used in many ways. This workshop teaches you how to make plarn, and to crochet it into bedrolls for the homeless. Bring at least 10 plastic shopping bags, like you would get at Food Lion (the blue ones are very pretty but any color will do) and a crochet hook size Q. This program is open to Tweens, Teens and Adults, ages 10 and up.
Teen Read Week Book Crush Makerspace, Sunday October 9 from 3-4 pm
Teen Read Week is October 9-15. Teens, ages 11-17, who love to read this program is for you!
Bring a friend and your creativity as we make jewelry, design T-shirts, and other items to show our book crushes.
National Friends of the Library Week is October 16-22.
Show your library some love! Volunteer, join the Greensboro Public Library Friends, or come check-out some books, music, or movies.
Ask about our free data bases for test prep, genealogy research, business building, and learning other languages.
Kids Konstruction, October 19 from 3-5 pm This is a GCS Early Release Day.
Come build with LEGOs, Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, KNEX, and Marbleworks. Help us build a library out of LEGOs.
Monster Mash Festival at the Glenwood Recreation Center on October 29 from 6-9 pm
Join us for fun and games, candy and stories, craft activities and music. We have even more to offer this year.
3rd Annual Zombie Walk for Teens, October 31 from 4-6 pm This is a GCS Teacher Workday.
Middle and high school students will start at the Glenwood Library at 4 pm for games, costuming, and Zombie make up. Zombie practice will begin at 5 pm and then the Zombie Walk will take us to the Glenwood Recreation Center for music and pizza.
