Haywood St. Landscaping

Perennial flowers in a bedOn Saturday, April 21st, a group of UNCG alumni and students, as well as representatives from Preservation Greensboro and GGNA, planted perennial flowers, weeded and mulched the beds of three houses on Haywwod Street in the Glenwood neighborhood.  The houses, which now sit on the North side of the 800 block of Haywood Street, were saved from demolition and moved by the Preservation Greensboro Development Fund to make way for UNCG’s campus expansion.

The landscaping service project was organized by the UNCG Alumni Association and many of the flowers planted were donated by alumni from their own yards. Previously, on March 24, volunteers planted trees on the properties and seeded grass, all in the pouring rain!
